On March 19th, Year 0 – 3 students participated in a meeting with a criminologist – Ms Joanna Stojer-Polańska. This event was organized within a framework of the project “The Nobel Laureates Ask Questions’. On a daily basis our guest carries out interdisciplinary research in the field of criminal disappearances and research on a dark number of crimes. She is also a lecturer at the children’s university and combines private passions, that is love for dogs and horses, with scientific interests. He writes for children – books about traces, dogs and horses in uniform services, and for adults – Crime Cases series books. Ms Stojer – Polańska works at the State Higher Vocational School in Racibórz and at the SWPS University of Humanities and Social Studies. She visited us accompanied by Shina, her beloved dog, which is a great tracker. During the classes children learnt who a tracker and what a trail is, what we examine traces for, and last but not least what role animals play in a policeman’ work. To make workshops even more interesting young students examined fingerprints and found out what the content of the forensic briefcase was.
