On the 25th of November, we have celebrated the International Teddy Bear Day in the schools’ library. During the event grades from 0 to 3 enthusiastically partook in the toy’s 117th birthday, whereas the whole school community got involved, helping to create a mesmerizing teddy bear exhibition made of over 100 plush bears.
During the event, students were entertained by classes and lectures (presented by means of the Kamishibai method) on the history of the bear as well as it’s cultural impact. During the classes and group games, students did not forget to mention some of the ‘celebrity bears’ such as Winnie the Pooh, famous Uszatek Bear, Yogi Bear, the Paddington Bear, Coralgol, Teddy, and many, many more.
There has also been a competition for the friendliest teddy bear with a beautiful story behind it. The results are listed below:
The first place: Mrs.’s Catherine’s (School Staff) teddy bear which ’gave’ her a rose and an engagement ring over 30 years ago.
The second place: ‘Carmel’ Bear (Tomek Noszczyk, grade 1A, Antek Noszczyk, grade 5A)
The third place: ‘Erdek’ Bear (Igor Eichler grade 5A)
Bears distinct: Monika Zwierzyńska’s (grade 7) plush mascot, a plush elephant of Kacper Wodecki (grade 6B).
We would like to sincerely thank all the participants for the involvement in this beautiful, furry, plush event.
